Golden Gate Hotel and Casino Review – Downtown Las Vegas

We’re proud to be Las Vegas’ most historic hotel and casino. Established in 1906, our family-owned boutique hotel-casino offers a friendly, intimate atmosphere that’s reminiscent of classic times long forgotten by corporate mega-resorts. All guest rooms have been recently renovated and in 2008 we were named the “Best Downtown Hotel” by the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Cornerstone of Old Vegas
Golden Gate Hotel and Casino is, they say, “where it all started.” In 1906, the hotel opened as Hotel Nevada and has operated continuously since. Golden Gate is a terrific staging point for experiencing the sights, sounds, and energy of Fremont Street Experience.

Party on Fremont Street
Fremont Street Experience is a 5-block pedestrian-only mall, full of classic casinos, bars, and shops. You can enjoy 3 stages of live entertainment and Viva Vision, a 4-block, 10-story, 550,000-watt LCD multimedia environment. There’s also the thrilling Flightlinez zip line.

Classic fun and food
Golden Gate Hotel’s casino features dancing girls as dealers, recalling the flapper era of the 1920s. You can also enjoy Las Vegas’ “original” shrimp cocktail, along with highly regarded pancakes and prime rib in Du-Par’s, the 24-hour restaurant.

A comfortable respite
Golden Gate Hotel and Casino’s compact, affordable rooms provide 42-inch flat-screen TVs with cable channels and clock radios so you can get going early. You can access the Internet from a wired connection or WiFi. Free toiletries help you refresh in the classic tile bathrooms.
